" I tore my meniscus while paddling a small boat kneeling on the deck. Not a smart move when you are over 50. I chose Green Mountain Orthopaedic Surgery because I have known them for years as a business client. Now, a year after my procedure, I feel confident that I made the right choice. I am back to full use of my knee which means I can walk my 4 dogs every day at Hubbard Park.
From my diagnosis through surgery, Dr. Bean made the process as enjoyable as possible with a combination of professionalism, caring and humor. I think GMOS is as good as or better than any other orthopedic office, not only in the state of Vermont, but all of New England. I've been recommending them to all my friends with orthopedic problems and even my wife is now a satisfied patient as well! Stay local and see the best at GMOS."

"I broke my fifth right metatarsal 10 days before my honeymoon. Dr. Bean did surgery to put a screw in the broken bone to stabilize my foot which enabled me to bear weight and have greater mobility. After surgery, I experienced no pain and actually walked out of surgery touching down on my casted right foot! While on my honeymoon, I called GMOS from London to ask about my cast as I had experienced edema on the flight. Having a friendly and understanding GMOS across the Atlantic was very reassuring to me.
My experience with Green Mountain Orthopaedic Surgery has always been first class. The physicians and staff are remarkable; they have a sense of humor and immediately put me at ease. My husband and I are both extremely grateful to the oustanding staff at GMOS as we had a fabulous honeymoon, even with a pink cast and crutches!"

"I came to Green Mountain Orthopaedic Surgery because they were highly recommended by a friend, as well as, their proximity to where I work - I have a business in South Barre. I met Dr. Meriam to discuss right knee pain that I had been having. After an MRI and a consultation with him, we decided that the best treatment was for a total knee replacement. I had the surgery in October of 2010 and could not have asked for a better result.
I am 100% satisfied - the most memorable experience with GMOS was probably six weeks after my operation - I was able to return to normal acitivities. The entire staff is fantastic! Dr. Meriam is a phenomenal doctor with an excellent bedside manner. I would recommend all my friends and family to GMOS without hestitation."

Collin first came to see Board Certified Hand Surgeon, Dr. Christian Bean, when he was just two weeks old. His parents came to Green Mountain Orthopaedic Surgery to discuss the extra thumb that he was born with. Upon examination, Dr. Bean suggested to Collin's parents, Megan and Jaron, that they bring him back in about 7 months to discuss a surgical procedure to remove the extra thumb. Here are some of the pictures to show you Collin's progress!
“I dislocated my right wrist after falling off a ladder. I went to the CVMC Emergency Room where Dr. Bean treated me. He advised that I should have surgery to fix my wrist. After my surgery, I had a splint and followed up with Green Mountain Orthopaedic Surgery.
According to the nurses and Dr. Bean, I was a great candidate for an Exos brace. It was much more comfortable for me, it added superior support and I was able to loosen or tighten it depending on the swelling. It fits like a glove! I was even able to perform CPR on a 6 year old boy that had an accident and almost drowned.
My experience at Green Mountain Orthopaedics was excellent from beginning to end. Dr. Bean knows what he is talking about and I felt like he treated my wrist like his own. I will highly recommend him and his staff." Anthony D., Sheffield, VT
